More than 200 columnists and expert commentators have already been recruited for the Guardian’s imminent ‘Comment is free’ project, editor-in-chief Emily Bell told the OPA conference today. She told the audience that the project is a unique experiment in the UK, if not the world, and emphasised that the internet is a crucial platform for the future of comment and debate.
The Guardian continues to embrace and experiment with digital tools earlier the most of its peers. Its most ambitious project todate will soon be launched and one to watch. A recent interview with Director of Digital Publishing Simon Waldman was insightful on how the Guardian is treating the digital age as an enormous oppotunity and not a threat.
